Baldivis Child Care Centre: Commercial Aluminium Windows & Doors in Perth
Alutech was engaged by Thomas Building to deliver the supply and installation of aluminium windows, commercial doors and security screening for the Baldivis Child Care Centre. Designed by Chaney Architecture, this purpose-built facility caters for more than 100 children and supports the growing needs of the local community.
From the outset, the brief required a balance of durability, safety and clean architectural design. Child care environments demand high-performing systems that can withstand daily use while maintaining a welcoming and secure setting for children, staff and families.
To meet these requirements, Alutech supplied and installed a range of commercial-grade systems including AWS 400 Series windows, 618 Series Magnum sliding doors, 452 Series sliding windows, and a Dorma powered automatic entry door. Security screens were integrated across key access points to enhance safety without compromising airflow or visibility.

The glazing specification was carefully selected to suit both performance and comfort. This included clear 6.38mm and 10.38mm laminated glass, along with 6.38mm Low E glass to assist with thermal efficiency. These elements contribute to a more comfortable internal environment while supporting energy performance across the building.
All framing was finished in Dulux Black Gloss powder coat, providing a sleek and modern aesthetic that complements the architectural design.
A key feature of this project was the level of custom detailing required to achieve the desired finish. Alutech worked closely with the builder and design team to deliver tailored solutions that enhanced both form and function.

Custom trim finishes were incorporated throughout the build to elevate the final appearance. Notably, 6mm architectural aluminium plate architraves were installed to four fixed windows. This detail was unique to the project and created a bold, refined frame that aligns with the overall design intent.
Functionality remained a priority throughout the project. The inclusion of an operated automatic door improves accessibility for staff, parents and visitors, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up periods.
Sliding door and window systems were selected for their ease of operation, ventilation capabilities and space efficiency. Combined with the added security screens, the centre benefits from a safe and practical environment tailored to everyday use.
Project Outcome
The completed Baldivis Child Care Centre reflects a strong collaboration between builder, architect and supplier. Alutech’s contribution focused on delivering high-quality, compliant systems with attention to detail at every stage.
The result is a modern, functional and visually cohesive facility that meets the demands of a high-traffic educational environment while maintaining a welcoming feel for the community it serves.
Alutech is proud to have been part of this project and to support the continued development of quality educational spaces across Western Australia.
